Your messages are processed to give you an answer, then gone. We keep no message history, we have no user accounts, no ads, no analytics trackers, and we never use your content to train AI. Your profiles, tasks, and energy logs live only on your phone.
The text you submit is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the response, and returns the result to you. We do not store, log, or read your messages, and we do not use them to train any AI model. Anthropic processes the text as a service provider under its commercial terms: it does not use API data to train its models, and may retain it briefly only for safety and abuse monitoring.
None of this is uploaded to us. You can erase all of it at any time with “Delete all local data” in Settings.
To enforce the daily free limit, our server counts requests per IP address in short-lived memory; this is not written to a database or used for tracking. Our hosting provider (Vercel) produces standard, transient infrastructure logs under its own privacy policy.
Subtext is a communication tool, not a medical or therapeutic device, and it is intended for adults 18+. Crisis resources shown in the app are informational only; we do not monitor conversations. If we change this policy, the new version will appear on this page with a new effective date.
